A Homegrown Love Story This Roan Mountain elopement was an absolute dream. About a year ago, my friend Katy told me she had given my name to a sweet bride and to watch for her inquiry. Sure enough, shortly after that I got an inquiry from Caitlin! She talked about their plans to elope on […]
A Homegrown Love Story One of my favorite things is being a home birth photographer and I am so happy to bring the birth story of Harbor Quinn over to the blog! So, in the past when I have shared birth stories, I’ve written them from my perspective but recently (since playing catchup up on […]
A Homegrown Love Story This Virginia wedding with Matt and Alyssa was an absolutely stunning day. I’m still not sure how it has already been a year since these two got married but here we are getting ready to shoot their anniversary photos in a few weeks (stay tuned for those to make an appearance […]

I can’t tell you how much I am loving this Honaker Virginia Backyard family photo shoot! Every single one of these backyard photo shoots have been so fun! I met Hannah last summer at the Farmer’s Market in our little town of Lebanon. She was a friend of my cousin’s wife and she had stopped […]
The McIntyres are one of the sweetest, hardest working families I know!
They run a dairy farm nestled into the mountains of southwest Virginia and just this past month they became farm owners of their beautiful farm! I couldn’t be more excited for them!!
I spent the afternoon with them capturing life on their farm milking cows and collecting eggs and just exploring!
Every year I get the privilege to photograph this family and it just gets sweeter and more fun each time! We hung out in the cornfield, checked out the corn to see how ready it was to harvest, then we headed down to the river! The kids fished and skipped rocks and we even roasted marshmallows till the sun was long gone.
I have known this family for somewhere around 14 years. They were one of the very first families I ever photographed way back in 2011 when I was fundraising to move to Peru. (Let’s just say I am SO thankful they gave me another shot because #neverstoplearning haha)
This spring Mike and I ventured into the world of flower farming! Last month I had the idea to open up our mini flower farm on select dates to offer Flower Farm Minis and let me tell you, I am SO glad I did! This is just the first of several farm mini sessions and it was amazing!!
I apologize in advance because this is going to be a long one. When you photograph 24 people AND it’s your pastor’s family (who you’ve known for almost 24 years) it’s bound to happen! My parents started going to LCF Church when I was 2. At the time it was the new church on the block. […]
A few months ago my husband came home from work with exciting news…his coworker had shared the news that he and his wife were expecting their first baby! I was so excited for them because babies are always wonderful! At this point I hadn’t met Cala but I’d seen her photo and thought she looked […]
Back in the summer I shot a gorgeous wedding at The Barns at Chip Ridge in Abingdon, VA (see it here!). Zac is the brother of the groom so these two love birds were in the bridal party. I had such a great time getting to know Zac and Bri. I was so excited to […]
