I am not one to take risks. But I serendipitously stumbled upon a Virginia wedding photographer who was wanting to travel (I’m a Texan). I fell in love with her photography style, and couldn’t stop comparing her work to any local photographers I’d find. I finally stepped out of my comfort zone to connect with her and see if we’d be a good fit for each other. Even thru emails, I could sense Emily’s genuine and personable nature. After our initial Skype call, I felt totally comfortable and excited about having Emily and her sweet family make the trip down to Texas to celebrate our wedding with us! During the engagement we were periodically in contact via email. She gave me instructions and timelines that allowed us to have everything ready weeks in advance, which made things so easy in the days leading up to the wedding.

When we finally got to meet in person, it was like reconnecting with an old friend. We took a Beloved engagement session the day before the wedding, which also allowed us to get to know each other a little before the real deal.

I honestly wish I could have had more time during our whirlwind wedding weekend to get to know the Rogers family better!
