A Homegrown Love Story

This Virginia wedding with Matt and Alyssa was an absolutely stunning day. I’m still not sure how it has already been a year since these two got married but here we are getting ready to shoot their anniversary photos in a few weeks (stay tuned for those to make an appearance on the blog too ;] )!

Matt and Alyssa got married on Matt’s family’s farm that’s up on the mountain and has some of the most amazing views around!

It’s just outside of Lebanon, VA but let me tell ya, the view is as good as any you might right on White Top or Roan Mountain! (And trust me, I deliver flowers weekly to Matt’s mom so I get to enjoy it every single time!) Just wait till you see the sunset photos! Alyssa was running barefoot through the hayfield…my kinda girl! I basically was freaking out the entire time! haha

Also, can we talk about how it’s the big beardy guys that catch you off guard? You think they’ll be all stoic and reserved but honestly, just about every single one I photograph ends up being so tenderhearted. Matt was no exception.

He got so chocked up reading Alyssa’s letter then his face when he turned around and saw her for the first time…absolutely priceless!

Matt and Alyssa’s families all worked so hard to bring their beautiful wedding together for them. They transformed a working barn into the most incredible reception space with an amazing chandelier! Truly it was such a special day! It’s honestly one of the things I love witnessing on wedding days–especially ones that are more DIY–just how families come together to bless the new couple and help bring their beautiful day to life!
