It finally came! I’ve been waiting for this wedding for nearly a year and a half and now I can’t believe it came and went so fast! I’ve known Traci for gosh, about 12 years now. She started coming to my church with her parents when we 12/11. I remember being afraid to talk to her because she was the new girl. ha! How silly kids are! Over the years we’ve become good friends and experienced a ton together. We went to Panana on a mission trip, we’ve driven to DC for a photography workshop with Mae Burke, we’ve talked photography and clothes and guys and Jesus, she did my makeup for my wedding, and she captured the birth story of my Ellie bean. When she asked me to be her wedding photographer I was just a little excited! I knew it would be beautiful and after waiting almost a year and a half I can say it truly was just perfect.
All week leading up to the wedding the weather was saying 80% chance of rain. Traci and I hashed out details of what to do in case of rain and we made plans to have bunches of umbrellas on hand! Friday morning I woke up and checked the weather first thing….it has gone down to only 15% all day until 7pm. Hot dog! Just what we prayed for! God’s pretty great like that. Mike and I loaded up all the gear, dropped off Ellie with my parents (along with her wedding duds since she would be coming with them as a guest), and headed to Kingsport. We met up with the girls at Traci’s house. It’s a pretty brick house with the perfect windows for “getting ready photos.” After the girls were ready, the guys showed up and then the show got rolling! First, Traci had a first look with both her dad and step-dad…talk about tender…and then she headed out to where Colbey was waiting for her! I’m pretty sure the bridesmaids and Traci + Colbey’s families were peeking out the windows watching. ;]
When we finally got to the Kingsport Farmers Market, everything was just beautiful and waiting for the guests to arrive! We had a couple hours to take lots of bridal party photos and gorgeous details. Did I mention that I got to ride on the gorgeous Kingsport Carousel for some really fun photos?! Talk about fun!! Oh, remember the rain I talked about? Luckily it held of just perfectly until about 6:15! We were able to get all of the bridal party photos done just in the nick of time!
Traci + Colbey and his mom (and so many other people!) worked to gather unique antique and vintage pieces to use as centerpieces. Each farmhouse table had a different decoration, accented by beautiful assorted flowers and fresh fruits! Breakfast was served for supper by the amazing Pratt’s, making everything come together just perfectly!
Traci + Colbey, thanks for trusting me and MIke to capture such a special, beautiful day. I pray blessings over your marriage!! Love you all!
