So about a month ago I participated in a traveling Bridal show in Abingdon, VA. The plan was for brides to travel to three different wedding venues in the area so they could tour the venues and meet a handful of wedding venders (florists, caterers, photographers, etc) at each stop. Unfortunately the weather was pretty awful and only three brides made it to the venue where I was located. I was pretty bummed but then I met Carly and we hit it off! After Mike and I grabbed super with her and her fiance, Zack, they booked us for their winter wedding at The Martha Washington Inn! These two are so much fun so I was/am thrilled to be working with them! 

The week leading up the session the weather called for 20% chance of rain, then 30%, then 40%, then 80%. I wasn’t happy. All week long it had been SO beautiful and now rain? Come on now! So Saturday rolled around and Carly and I text back and forth just watching the weather and keeping our fingers crossed that the weather would cooperate. We bumped the session about an hour earlier and boy am I glad we did! The rain finally went away and left us with the absolute perfect golden light and cloudy sky that I love (and all the photographers say “amen”)! We started out in Lebanon, at a little hidden gem that I found will walking with a friend. We even let their pup, Stella, join in the fun! And check out that ring! The building in some of the shots had some great vines and moss that was just perfect for displaying Carly’s gorgeous ring! I love how Zack had the jeweler set the ring at a different angle that you typically see! Isn’t it a beauty?? Next we headed over to Lebanon’s brand new coffee shop — Restore Community Coffee — for some coffee and some dreamy photos by the big front windows! (p.s.- be sure to check out Restore Coffee if you haven’t yet!) After that we finished up their session at one of my favorite hilltop views in Lebanon! (We also ran into a dead coyote so that wasn’t exactly a highlight of the trip!) While we took the last photos we let Stella run around and get some of her energy out…see if you can spot her in some of the images. ;]

Carly + Zack, y’all are awesome! Thanks for trusting me and Mike to capture this special time in your lives! We can’t wait for your wedding next March!! We’re so glad to call you two friends now! :]
